If You’re Involved in an Accident

If you are involved in an automobile or motorcycle accident, the first thing to attend to is making sure everyone involved is alright and out of harm’s way. That means calling for emergency services if someone is injured or if a vehicle cannot be moved out of the path of traffic. Once all of that is taken care of, or if there are no serious injuries or complicating factors, it is important to make out a police report and exchange information with any other drivers, bicyclists, or pedestrians involved.

Filing a Claim

When you are involved in an accident that results in injury or property damage, you will need to file a claim. It doesn’t matter if you believe it was your fault or the fault of another party, you should report the accident as promptly as possible.  You can give us a call at (309)-589-1000 and we can help you get the ball rolling.

We understand that even if you are not hurt, being involved in any accident can be upsetting and frustrating, which is why we are here to help you throughout the claims process. We are also happy to answer any questions and address any concerns you might have.

The Claims Process

Once you let us know that you need to file a claim, you will have a claims adjuster assigned to your case.  It is the adjuster’s job to determine the damages sustained due to the accident, and to assign monetary amounts payable for those damages. Your adjuster may ask you for the accident report number, if one has been assigned, as well as other information pertinent to their investigation.  Your adjuster will also be able to update you on the status of your claim as you move forward through the process.

Reporting Insurance Fraud

Insurance fraud is a serious crime. Additionally, when individuals collect on false claims, it causes insurance rates to go up for everyone. Any person who knowingly commits or facilitates fraud against an insurer or files an application or claim containing false or deceptive statements, with the intent to defraud, is guilty of insurance fraud.

If you have any information regarding the filing of a false claim, or any other fraudulent activity, please contact us immediately so we can continue to provide the lowest rates for auto insurance in Peoria to all our valued clients.
